Team Strategy
Squad Loadout Balance
A role-based framework for building four-player Helldivers 2 loadouts without duplicating every weapon and stratagem.
Assign capabilities instead of rigid classes
Every Helldiver should remain flexible, but the squad must know who provides each critical capability. Assign primary responsibility for anti-armor, wave clear, objective destruction, and recovery before launch.
Two players can overlap on a critical capability without copying complete loadouts. Redundancy protects the mission when equipment is lost or a reinforcement lands away from the squad.
Cover the mission checklist
Read the operation, modifiers, and likely enemy composition before selecting equipment. A balanced build answers the mission rather than maximizing a single damage statistic.
- A repeatable answer to heavy armor.
- Fast removal of groups and reinforcement waves.
- Reliable destruction for structures or mission objectives.
- A safe recovery tool for overwhelmed positions.
- Enough ammunition economy for extended fights.
Stagger cooldowns and communicate
Do not spend every orbital and Eagle charge on the same target unless the mission is at immediate risk. Call the tool being used, confirm its direction, and preserve another response for the next wave.
Before moving, confirm that support weapons and backpacks have been recovered. The strongest squad loadout only works when its equipment remains distributed across the team.
